My First Food
We decided to give Charlie his first taste of baby cereal tonight. We held off because we knew that he was growing just fine with out it and it just makes a big mess for the first few weeks. Charlie was happy to be in his bumbo on the table, he sits there most of the time when we eat dinner. Let the craziness of feeding a baby, making dinner for the rest of us, and chasing a 2 1/2 year old around begin!
Trying to do it himself!
He ate about 1/2 of it and the rest ended up on the table, his belly, legs and all over the bumbo. After the first few bites he started opening his mouth and trying to chew on the spoon. I think we have another happy eater on our hands!
Grandaddy and RuRu Come to Visit
Ryan's parents came to visit for his choir concert and birthday this past weekend. We went to the beach, the aquarium and spent lots of time in the back yard. The boys loved playing with their grandparents and fun was had by all!
I think Samuel is over his fear of the water
They all were having so much fun!
Samuel doesn't seem to worried about the sand today!
I just had to laugh when I saw Samuel doing this. My parents have a picture of me doing this when I was about his age. Like mother like son! I am so proud of my beach buddy!
Date Night
Chick-fil-A in Wilmington did a Mommy Son Date "Knight" tonight and it was so great. Samuel and I decided to head to one of the free stands so we could experience an event at a different store (and to steal some ideas for next year!). It was GREAT! They were all dressed up in outfits from medieval times, they had transformed part of the dining room into a castle, and the cow was at the door to greet us.
Samuel has been so excited for this night for several days because he knew he was going to get a sword and going to go on a date with mommy! The whole drive to Chick-fil-A he told me that he was going to play swords, eat chicken, and that the Chick-fil-A cow says "Eat More Chicken!". He was so sweet. He was beside himself when we pulled in and saw the cow had a sword, loved all the people dressed up and even was excited about the dessert he got to eat!
I look forward to many more date nights with my boys, something I really treasured with my daddy! I hope they look forward to our fun times together as much as I do!
Bath Time
Just some Fun Days
We are having fun living life as a family of 4. Most of the time we still do a lot of the same things we did before Charlie, he just gets to tag along now! Samuel is really enjoying being a big brother. He loves to make faces at Charlie to see if he can make him smile, likes to make sure Charlie has a toy, and most of all makes sure Charlie's paci is always close by incase he decides it is time to start crying! I love watching the two of them now, how Charlie thinks Samuel is hilarious and how Samuel looks out for his little brother. I can't wait to see them playing together in a couple years!!!
The Masters
Happy Easter
Every year after the Easter service at our church we have a potluck lunch and then an egg hunt for the kids! This year Ryan took the pictures while I helped Samuel. We have spent a good bit of time this week trying to tell Samuel about Jesus and that he was killed but he died to save us. His response is almost always, "yeah, and mommy then I get eggs!" Maybe next year he will really hear us instead of the background thoughts of eggs!!!
We have a fun picture of these two from last year. Regardless of how much we try they won't stop for a moment to smile for the camera, so this is the best we could get!
Best attempt at a family photo!
Littlest love birds
Hadley and Charlie are the two newest additions to our family and the Carpenter family. A couple weeks ago at the playground Lily Kate quickly announced that Charlie, Hadley's boyfriend, had arrived. Charlotte also announced that they should be best friends just like she and Samuel! I am excited to see these two grow up and love playing together!
