Rainy Day Activities

The rain has been constant for the past couple weeks.  I know that it is good for the grass, rivers, lakes, etc. but it really makes it hard to find activities for a 3 year old to do!  Today the rain let up for just a little while so Samuel and I went swimming next door while Charlie took a nap.  When little brother woke up we decided to do some painting on the porch.

Eating All by Myself

Charlie is LOVING food (can't you tell by those huge cheeks?).  He would eat all day-anything and everything!  Lately he still loves all puree baby food but is also eating bananas, peaches, pears, and peas with his hands.  Charlie cut his first tooth last Thursday so once he has a few more we may move to strictly finger foods!

We Love the Beach!

Erica, Daniel and "baby Jacob" came to visit and we had a great time together.  This was Jacob's first time to the beach.  We were excited to introduce him to the delicacy of delicious sand and salt water!  Jacob was quite like our kiddos the first time they saw the water when they were crawling-put him down he crawled straight for the water, stopped for a handful of sand in the mouth and kept crawling!  He seemed to really love it and we were glad to introduce him to the wonderful world of living at the beach!

Samuel found this huge mound and hole.  He had a great time jumping from the "mountain" into the hole

The newest little sea turtle

Jacob had a blast splashing and playing in the water!  I think he will be a fan for life!

Comparison

Here are the boys at 8 months.  Both definitely look like us, but are for sure their own little person!  Samuel was most definitely chubbier and had LOTS more hair.  They both are/were very happy babies with lots of energy and smiles!  I can't imagine a day without these little guys lighting up my life!

Charlie

Samuel-look at all that hair!

Bath Time

The boys have only taken a few baths together, and tonight was the beginning, I think, of many fun bath times together!  Charlie LOVED, I mean LOVED, the water.  He literally splashed the entire time and was very upset when I finished washing him and took him out.  He just giggled, splashed, chewed on toys and splashed some more!  Samuel typically prefers a shower, but now that I can bathe them both at the same time this is going to be a regular event at the Powell house!

We Love our Friends!

Our dear, life long friends came for a fun visit to the beach.  They have recently added a sweet and beautiful member to their family and this was our first time meeting Ansley!  She is so sweet and happy and has the greatest smiles!  We had a great time at the beach, playing in the pool, lots of games and some great down time.  We have some great friends and we are excited to vacation with them as our kids grow up together!

Ryan went out to catch some waves...

...Samuel thought he was going to get to go with him and was sad that he was stuck on the beach...

...now showing daddy exactly where he wants to catch some waves!

Samuel's first Britts donut...I think we have created a MONSTER!
