Preschool has Begun!

Today (Thursday) is/was Samuel's first day of Pre-K and he was rather excited.  I had to put a handful of pictures here because he was just cracking me up!  He certainly wasn't as shy as he was last year when I tried to take his picture!  He likes to play a game he calls "don't smile" where we try to get each other to smile!  He made sure to perform this for the camera!  What a goober, but I love him so much!  Here's to another great year!

So sad my camera started to fog up!

St. Simon's Island

We met in St. Simon's Island to spend time with the Cowan/McDougald family!  We spent a great majority of our time on the beach and the boys LOVED it!  Pops was great in the morning with the boys-digging holes, splashing in the ocean and just observing.  We had a great time and can't wait for next year to be together again!

If you know David Cowan you know this is a great display of love!  Dad has always had a desire to stay far away from the beach and the sand, but he spent every morning with the boys digging and playing!  Pops is pretty awesome and these boys love him quite a lot!

Uncle John and the inevitable drip castle!  I love that my boys will know the joys of drip castles- my grandfather made them for us all the time growing up!

Visiting our Grandmommie

We went to Grandmommie's house to go swimming and have lunch.  The boys immediately went to her piano and began to play.  This piano has taught many kids and it was a great joy to see them enjoy making noise (too bad it wasn't the most beautiful noise) but it was so special!

My grandmother has an incredible shell collection from living in Florida and also things she has collected on her many travels around the world.  Charlie saw the conch shell and started putting his hand to his ear and pointing to it.  He knows you can hear the ocean.  What a special moment for me to see!

Atlanta Zoo

The boys first visit to the zoo was a great success!  The boys loved all the animals and had a great time feeding, petting, growling and checking out all the animals!

The aviary house.  We bought Samuel a bird stick so he could feed them and he had a great time letting the birds land on the stick and eat the food!

Charlie was pretty impressed too!

The moment Charlie saw this he said "doggie, woof woof".  I guess we need to keep working on our animals!

And thus the game of trying to get both kids looking at the camera at the same time begins!

The littlest gorilla was antagonizing his older brother and sister.  When they turned around to get him back he would run to his mom!  Sounds very familiar (basically what I did to my brothers growing up!)

Loving the pandas!  Again Charlie said "doggie, woof woof"

The petting zoo.  It was very interesting to see the animals-they literally stood there like statues, barely moving at all!  Samuel loved it!

Taking a ride on the train!

Our little conductors!

Atlanta Bound

We went to Atlanta to visit Grandaddy and RuRu and the boys had a great time!  We visited the fire station, went swimming, saw great friends and had a great time just being together!

Our friend from college is a fire fighter in Canton and we went to see his station.  Samuel really LOVES everything fireman related so this was right up his alley.  Matt had just been called out when we got there, so we missed him, but the boys got to see the station, ride in all of the trucks (at least 2 times), told the firemen there all about each truck and even got to go up in the training tower.  To say they had fun is an understatement!

We went swimming in our friends pool and the kids had a great!  Ryan and Alan tried to get the kids to jump in all together, but Samuel was a little excited and kept jumping the moment he gets to the side!  They had fun swimming, splashing and "diving".
