Scales and Tales

Once a year our city does a "Be a Tourist in Your Own Town" day and today was that day. It was also a big event at our Aquarium called "Scales and Tales". We have a membership to our aquarium and Samuel loves seeing the fish, lobsters and jellyfish each week. Ryan joined us today and we headed down there for a fun day of great adventure. We braved the crowds (there are usually 10 cars in the parking lot when we go each week) and today the parking lot was full. Fun was had by all, Samuel loved touching all the animals, got excited to show daddy the Nemo fish and even got to see some super cool HUGE turtles and iguanas! Definitely something we will repeat in the future!

An albino snapping turtle. Samuel really wanted to pet his head, he didn't quite grasp the fact that if he stuck his hand near the turtle's head he might bite it off!
Holy Giant Snake Batman!
Charlie and I got close enough to take pictures, but definitely not close enough to touch! We were definitely okay with that!
Samuel wanted to take this guy home! We don't quite need a pet that big!
A corn snake the kids were allowed to touch
Samuel even decided he was big enough to hold the snake

The snake wanted a kiss...
...So Samuel obliged him!
And he even threw in a hug for good measure!
He was so proud of himself when he reached out to pet this snake, he exclaimed (VERY LOUDLY) "mommy, I touch it!"
Climbing on the giant frog before we left!
