Fall Festival

We had our annual Fall Festival at church last night.  Samuel was so excited to dress up as an astronaut and was even more excited to see "his mermaid" (that's what he called Charlotte all night).  Charlie had a great time crawling around in the grass and checking out the festivities.  Samuel's favorite things based on our conversation on the way home (in order): "the mermaid, I got to be an astronaut, the hay ride, going down the bouncy slide, eating my hot dog so I could have the chocolate cupcake, and getting candy because I said trick or treat.  Mommy, may I have my candy now?"  Needless to say it was a great evening.

That's one small step for man...(no he didn't take a step, but he is standing on his own these days)

Samuel wanted to sit in my lap the whole time.  He kept saying "that man is driving crazy" (our pastor was the tractor driver)

Yes, all astronauts need a hula hoop!

family photo op!  Maybe when they're 15 we can get them to look at the camera

The Fire Pit

We have been talking about our plans for our backyard now for a few years.  Hopefully we will have our patio poured soon, but we decided with fall coming we should get a head start on the fire pit!  Thanks to Evan and his brute strength the guys went on over to the Home Depot and got all the bricks (well minus a few) and set out on the task of making the fire pit happen!  Samuel supervised, of course, and then that night we tested it out!

Happy boys

Thanks Evan for all your help and fun this week!  We all miss you already!

he thought the floating marshmallow was hilarious

If you know Ryan, you know he could eat about 100 marshmallows in a sitting.  He was in Heaven!

I think this one is hooked too!

He Found His Cabinet!

When we baby proofed the house for Samuel we put locks on most of the cabinets in the kitchen.  The two that didn't get locks were the kid cabinet and the tupperware cabinet.  Charlie figured out yesterday that BOTH were his for the taking.  We have had lots of fun banging plates, cups and containers around!  I love his exploratory nature!

These next 3 are Samuel at about the same age when he, too, discovered his cabinet!  He had SO much hair and was so much chunkier!
