David Jr.

The Porter family has been a part of my life since middle school.  Rebecca and I became friends in 7th grade and have continued to enjoy amazing parts of life together.  Our husbands are even BFs from middle school-kinda crazy!  Anyway, one of her younger brothers, David Jr., has had quite a rough couple months.  Below is the update from his website, more eloquently put than I could write!

David began experiencing dizziness and blurred vision in mid-March of 2009. In 2 weeks the symptoms had not changed and we began the doctor visits...general doctor, eye doctor and ENT (ear, nose and throat). Nobody could find out what was causing the extreme dizziness. On Monday, April 13th we visited a neurologist who ordered an MRI which was done on Tuesday morning, April 14th. We received the news that afternnoon that there was "abnormal tissue on the brain stem". On Wednesday, April 16th, we had a spinal tap and extensive blood work done. We are awaiting these results. David cannot focus to read and is now trying to finish his last 2 weeks of school so that he can graduate from Gainesville State College on May 7th.

He has had multiple DR visits, tests, Physical Therapy, etc. over the past few weeks and seems to be hanging in there.  He is now in a wheel chair and has very little energy.  He is anemic due to some internal bleeding.  He has a major Dr. apt on May 6 where they will run even more tests and maybe do a few procedures, I'm not really sure!

I simply ask that you keep him and his family in your prayers.  Below is the his website where you can check on what is going on!

Just an update

We have had an exciting few weeks!  Ryan had a visit from his operator coach from Chick-fil-A which was really fun.  He came and spent some time with Ryan talking through the store, challenges and goals.  He's a great guy and we are thankful for all his encouragement!  A week later we drove to St. Simons, GA for my cousins wedding!  It was a lot of fun to be with family and celebrate with Melanie during this special time.  The following weekend my mom and grandmother came up for a weekend (Easter) just to see where we were living and spend some time together.  We felt so spoiled to be with friends and family again, it was so nice!  We are getting more involved here in Wilmington, we are really enjoying the church we are attending and meeting some great people.  Ryan joined the men's softball team which has helped introduce him to some guys and I have gone and sat with the women, so we are really enjoying this time of fellowship!  Our little one is growing well, I feel like I double in size each week-but not really (Thank goodness).  He is very active and seems to be content!  I am at 30 weeks, so we are almost there!  Well, that's about it for now, below are some pictures from Easter Sunday!
