Enchanted Airlie

Tonight we met some dear friends for a fun (and very cold) night at Enchanted Airlie.  They had a great LegoLand exhibit and Samuel loved watching the train come.  We walked around to see the gardens all lit up and then stopped by to see Santa.  The boys have never seen Santa and I was actually shocked that Samuel went right up and sat in his lap.

While we were in line I asked Samuel if he would tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas.  He said, "yes, I will tell him that I want snowballs and to play with BeBe."  When he got up there he said exactly that!  Both boys smiled and talked with Santa like they were best buddies!

Playing at the Park & Climbing Rocks

We took the boys to the park the other night.  The weather was nice so we decided to take advantage!  Charlie LOVED the freedom of climbing to the top and tried to go head first down the big slide!  The boys and I went down the slide together about 15 times.  I love playing with them!

We took Pops to the aquarium today and stopped at the beach to check out the rocks and watch the waves hit the rocks.  Samuel loved climbing the rocks.  I told him to be very careful and do exactly what Pops said.  Dad of course quickly asked Samuel, "Samuel, if I tell you to jump into the water will you?" My smart little boy said, "No, I can't, I have my clothes on."

Baking Cookies with Melissa

Our sweet friend Melissa called the other day to see if the boys wanted to come over to bake and decorate cookies.  Samuel was beside himself!  Cookies, frosting, and sugar is right up his alley!  Charlie was happy to be there too! Thanks, Melissa, for being so sweet to my little men!

He just kept dumping each jar of sprinkles on each cookie!  If I hadn't turned them back over I'm pretty sure that the first 4 cookies would have taken all the decorating and the rest would have been bare!

After making the traditional holiday shapes Samuel opted to make a few feet and a fish!  Good choices buddy!

Tasting his creation!  He said it was delicious!

If that face doesn't spell TROUBLE, I don't know what does!

Christmas Plays at Church and Preschool

Last weekend was busy with the Christmas play at church and Samuel's Christmas production at preschool.  Charlie was a champ watching both!  I was shocked to see my rambunctious big boy standing completely still for the entire performance at church with his mouth wide open with amazement at all the people.  I don't think he moved the whole time!  The play at church was about Christmas around the world.  He is wearing an Indian costume that one of my younger brothers wore for halloween many years ago!  Stephen even leaned over to Ryan to say, "wow Samuel's outfit looks like it is from the 80's."  Well my good brother, it was and it could have even been yours!

Close to the end he noticed us sitting close by and gave us the biggest smile!

Again, Samuel didn't do much singing.  This time he spent his moments with his hand in his mouth or his shirt over his head.  Where did this shy kid come from!?

Our buddies Charlotte and Evan

They sang a cute song about the animals in the stable.  This was the only song he participated in. Here he is saying "moooooooooo"

Movie Night

Samuel's favorite book this Christmas has been the Polar Express.  It was mine growing up and we read it about 6 times a day.  We have the movie and he had been asking to watch it for days.  Finally, when our buddies came over, we decided it was a good time for movie night.  We had a great time in our jammies, sipping hot chocolate with marshmallows and eating holiday cookies!  Love my big boy and his buddies!

Got a New Camera

Ryan got me a new camera for Christmas.  I found out, completely by accident, about a month ago so we got to pick it out together. It arrived a couple weeks ago and I've had fun playing with it and capturing our every day with it!

Charlie often sits here when his daddy leaves for work and sometimes when I say daddy is coming home he'll go over to the window! I just love it!

I'll take help doing the laundry from this guy any day!
