Samuel's first (real) haircut

We held off as long as we could. I loved his shaggy hair, but Samuel often rubbed his ears and neck, and I think it was because his hair was tickling him. So here are some pics from todays events.
The before picture of Samuel playing yesterday morning.

making the first cut

He kept "whining", it was so fake, but he got happy again when we gave him a cheeze-it
the hair trimmer and hair dryer freaked him out, which is weird b/c he loves it when I point the dryer at him...silly little boy!
My handsome little boy, he looks soooooo different!

fun place to play

Samuel discovered today that he could not just play with the toys in the box, but inside the box would be just as fun!

What is the best way to sleep?

Tonight I went in to check on Samuel, as we have begun to do on a regular basis, and this is what I found! There is something just so sweet about watching your baby sleep!

Cow Appreciation Day

Well, today was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A. This time last year was Samuel's first visit to CFA, the first of many. Samuel's grandparents were in town and also gave Samuel this cute costume a while back. So of course we had to dress him up and make our way to the mall! Fun was had by all, and free chicken was eaten! What a great day!

4th of July in the mountains

We spent the 4th in the mountains this year and had a great time. I know it was a change from running the Peachtree (which I am sure we will do again next year), but it provided some great relaxation!

He wanted to share the wrapping paper!

playing in the garden

We went for a stroll through the garden. Samuel loved the flowers, butterflies and bark. He is so interested in everything!

Had to get a shot of the crack!

Samuel was so gentle with all the flowers.

Erica and Daniel come to visit

We had so much fun with our college friends that visited last week. Our many trips to the beach confirmed Samuel's love for the water and sand. He would book it for the water (either walking or crawling, whichever seemed to get him there fastest) the moment we would put him down. We also picked blackberries, hung out downtown and had some great fellowship!

Happy Birthday!

We had a little party for Samuel (and our adult friends) a couple weeks ago. We gave him his cupcake and he pondered it for a long time. These pictures are after Ryan decided to help the process and put a little icing on Samuel's face and smash his cake. He wasn't too sure about getting yucky...he takes after his mommy!
